LCT 7074 (Landing Craft Tank) arrived in Southsea today and was transported to its final position at the D-Day museum after an 8 year restoration. Built to transport up to ten tanks for the D-Day landings into France, the allies invasion to defeat the nazi’s and liberate Europe. LCT 7074 eventually ended up being converted into a nightclub and clubhouse. Left to become a derelict, she sank at her moorings at East Float Dock, Birkenhead. LCT 7074 was then salvaged in 2014 and was restored to her former glory at the National Museum of the Royal Navy, Portsmouth based in HMNB Portsmouth.
